Latest Updates from Our Project:

Backerkit Surveys
over 3 years ago – Wed, Dec 16, 2020 at 02:18:09 AM

Thank you for making our project a reality! A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

Here's a quick rundown:

First, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards (this can take up to two weeks).

Second, we have to find out what you ordered and where we need to ship them. We’ll send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information.

We’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

If you prefer, you can contact me directly and give me your information, but answering your survey help us get your rewards out to you faster. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact me at [email protected].

Again, thanks for all your support. We can’t wait to send you your games.

Sincerely,

Sarah

Final 2 days...
over 3 years ago – Sat, Dec 12, 2020 at 07:18:02 AM

Greetings all,

We're down to the final two days of the campaign, and we're closing in on the final stretch goal - the last set of Tactics cards. Once those are unlocked, the game will have 27 tactics cards to use across all three attacks, which will increase the variability in the higher difficulty games.

I just wanted to say thanks again for all the support in this campaign. I'm excited about adding Soldiers in Postmen's Uniforms to the Valiant Defense series and telling the story of these brave people.

As for what's next in the series? Well, I'll say that it's the right time of year to talk about it. :)

Stretch Goals unlocked and what's next for Valiant Defense?
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 08, 2020 at 06:29:56 PM

Hi everyone, just checking in again to say thanks for the support. We've unlocked a couple more stretch goals (the improved quality reference sheets and the mounted board). And We've also added a stretch goal to start unlocking Tactics Cards. The more tactics card we can add to the game, the greater the variety and replayability.

I also wanted to pass along that I've made a call to the community asking what the next game in the Valiant Defense series should be. If you're interested in joining this discussion, just reply to this update or head over to Board Game Geek where we're discussing it: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2544795/next-game-valiant-defense-series-after-itter-pavlo

Great first day (and the Companion Guide)
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 08, 2020 at 04:44:16 AM

Thanks to everyone for supporting Soldiers in Postmen's Uniforms. We had an awesome first day. The game is fully funded, which means that we unlocked the downloadable version of the companion book. Here's a link to the draft for you to check out: http://digitalcapricorn.com/Postmen/Companion_Book.pdf

Remember, you can add a print version of the companion book to your pledge. You can also add custom dice with the Polish eagle from the coat of arms. And Sarah has added a ton of other games, companion books, dice, and more as add-ons on the Kickstarter campaign page.

Thanks again for helping us get off to an amazing start!

On the topic of Tactics (cards)...
over 3 years ago – Fri, Dec 04, 2020 at 04:20:15 AM

Greetings all,

Once again - a HUGE thanks to everyone for making the campaign so successful. We're down to the last week and we've already doubled the campaign goal, which is awesome. Today I wanted to talk just a little about the Tactics cards. These are the next few stretch goals, so what exactly are they? If you've played Pavlov's House or Castle Itter, you'll be familiar with them. While they aren't core to the game, they allow us to add variants with escalating difficulty.

At the Veteran level you add a single Tactics card per turn, and at Elite difficulty you add two Tactics cards. With each unlocked Stretch Goal, we're able to add more Tactics cards, which increase variability. The Tactics cards have a wide variety of effects - but NONE of them are good for the defenders! Here are a couple examples:

Both of these examples have significant impacts on the gameplay, improving the effectiveness of attackers. The Breach card allows the attackers to break through the fences guarding the post office without delay, while the Western Approach card focuses the attackers from one direction.

As we move into this last week of the campaign, I just wanted to say thanks again for all the support. If you haven't already done so, be sure to head over to Board Game Geek to join in on the discussion about what the next game in the Valiant Defense should be: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2544795/next-game-valiant-defense-series-after-itter-pavlo
